Funding for Hiring – Career Focus Program

The Funding for Hiring – Career Focus Program is a wage subsidy program sponsored by Service Canada. Earn up to $20,000 for your new hire!

Part of the federal government’s Youth Employment Strategy, Career Focus is open to all organizations in the food and beverage manufacturing, distribution and wholesale sector. The funding you could receive from FPHRC can improve training standards within your company, and show youth the many benefits of working in this growing industry.

Do I qualify?

Any Canadian company in the food and beverage manufacturing, distribution and wholesale sector is welcome to apply for this rewarding program.

Employer Terms and Conditions

  • Participating company should be from the private sector in a high demand field;
  • The company must provide a full-time work opportunity (at least 30 hours per week) for a minimum of 3 months. The subsidy may run until the end of the position, or until March 31, 2016 – whichever comes first;
  • The company must provide a minimum of $1 for each $1 of wage subsidy (to a maximum subsidy amount of $20,000/annum);
  • The company must provide proof of employment, start date, contract with participant, full wage and benefits of participant to FPHRC upon request;
  • The company must provide information about the placement as required; and
  • The company must provide FPHRC with monthly financial claims and progress reports.
